”Love Street” is the name of the street where Jim Morrison’s girlfriend Pamela lived. They called it ”Love Street” because a lot of hippies walked by but the real address was 1812 Rothdell Trail.
Jim Morrison knew that his girlfriend Pamela had relationships with other men, hence the line ”She has me and she has you”.
The line ”There’s a store where the creatures meet” can be interpreted in different ways. Pamela owned a clothing store which was often visited by hippies and it could be refered to that. Also, Pamela was a heroin addict and hung out with other junkies, and it’s a possibility that Jim knew that her store was one of their meeting places.
Love Street was one of the first songs I heard by The Doors and I listened to it a lot. I still like it but it's not a favorite.
Update: I will write more about Jim & Pamela and their relationship later.
